LCD TV
LCD TV makes use of a series of liquid crystals and thin film transistors(TFT), and their low cost and low power consumption has made them a strong competitor in the HDTV market. Burn in has never been an issue for LCDs, however Contrast Ratio, Pixel Response Time, and Viewing Angle have been.
High Definition LCD TV
Trying to decide on whether to go LCD or Plasma means trying to find the best in high definition quality. Currently, however, both technologies are established enough to where comparable prices will be found in the highest HD, 1080p. This one is up to personal preference.
LCD Burn In
When comparing an LCD TV to Plasma, there is no doubt that the subject of burn in will come up. Although new technologies are being developed to prevent burn in on Plasmas, LCDs have never had to worry about to begin with. Score one for LCD.
Flat Panel LCD TV
The world of flat panel LCD TV is pretty intense. They originally became popular for computer monitors in the early 2000s due to low weight and low power consumption, raising their popularity of TVs soon after. Technological advances are moving LCDs into the >40" market where Plasmas have dominated for years.
LCD TV Contrast
Contrast quality is becoming increasingly important, especially among movie viewers, which is why LCD versus Plasma TV battles are so intense. A low contrast ratio means it is harder to differentiate between greys and blacks, but Plasma TVs are bright enough to where they don't have to worry about this. Score one for Plasma.
